Who We Are
Tish Mills literally grew up in the development and design world, as the daughter of a prominent resort, hotel and commercial developer. However, instead of following directly into that part of the business, Tish realized at a young age that her passion centered around transforming spaces into unique environments for each client. And, because of her roots, she is able to work very closely with any architect and builder to create her designs.
She loves to specify unique finishings and architectural details that will create special spaces. She has often said that the renovation portion of her business sparks a love to “tear up the place” in order to create true beauty. She is able to think through usage and placement within a home that answers the homeowners’ specific needs. And when brought in during this phase of a project, she is able to think through the Feng Shui aspects of the actual home or building to create a very comfortable and balanced space.
Tish is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the nation’s most prominently accredited design organization. Since joining ASID, Tish has consistently chaired a committee to help give back to the profession. In addition, the ASID has recognized Tish for her accomplishments including a 2005 Design Excellence Award for her work.
She was asked to participate in the Elle Décor Dining by Design event to support DIFFA (Design Industries Fight Against AIDS). She thoroughly enjoyed the worthwhile event and was thrilled when the editor-in-chief of Elle Décor wanted to meet and congratulate her on the design, which was themed after the Great Barrier Reef, including baby sharks in a tank placed in the middle of the table.
Tish has also been featured in numerous publications as well as two coffee table books on interior design. One book highlighted the top showhouses across the country, including the Atlanta Symphony Decorators’ Showhouse, Kips Bay in New York and the National Showhouse in Washington. Tish was again thrilled to have her work chosen to be highlighted in such top tier national company.
Tish has participated in three Atlanta Symphony Decorator Showhouses, two Children’s Alliance Theatre Christmas Houses, and the 2005 Atlanta Magazine Dream Home. As a result of her showhouse work, Tish has been hired by two of the showhouse homeowners to design the entire house after the event.
The passion that drives Tish is to be involved in the total package, from the inception of the project, through architectural drawings, selection of finishings, furnishings, fabrics and the finishing touches of each project. But regardless of whether the project is large-scale or a single room, Tish selects projects based on the creative challenge and the natural connection to the homeowner.
Marisa graduated summa cum laude from The Art Institute of Atlanta in December of 2004 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. Marisa also holds a summa cum laude Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from the University of Southern Mississippi. She joined Harmonious Living in 2005 after working with another design firm in Atlanta.
Her strengths include interior architecture and space planning, detailing, computer aided and hand drafting, and rendering. She works as a project manager, as well as aids in the conceptual phases of projects.
Anne handles a great portion of the behind-the-scenes portion of the business. Given her background as a business owner of a retail establishment, she is very gifted at handling the ordering and tracking process. She also makes sure that all items arrive where and when necessary for each project.
Her attention to detail is a very important aspect of the business.
