About Harmonious Living
Harmonious Living by Tish Mills is a unique design firm that blends traditional interior design with the principles of Feng Shui to create environments that are as balanced as they are beautiful. Tish Mills has always worked to create spaces that match each client’s specific wants and needs. This close client-designer partnership, coupled with our design philosophy, results in spaces that are unique to each person. Since making this overall transition in 2004, the company’s growth has far exceeded expectations.
In addition to a strong referral base, Tish Mills has participated in various show houses including the Atlanta Symphony Decorator Showhouse, and charitable events such as DIFFA’s Dining by Design. As a result, Tish Mills has become sought after outside of the Atlanta area and is currently working on projects in several parts of the country including Phoenix, AZ and Rosemary Beach, FL.
Tish Mills’ designs have been featured in numerous publications, including two coffee table books on interior design. The industry has also recognized her work with a 2005 ASID Design Excellence Award.
Harmonious Living by Tish Mills is a full-service design firm that works with the base of what a homeowner has to create timelessly elegant spaces. This approach, coupled with the Feng Shui aspect of the business, leads to uniquely balanced and comfortable environments. We offer our services to both new construction and renovation projects, as well as strictly interior design overlay for any given project.
Our services include:
- Space planning
- Interior Design
- Furniture, fabric and accessory selection
- Construction finishings specification
- Feng Shui balancing
We start each project with an extensive interview with the homeowner to determine their needs and wants for the project. We also take an inventory of what pieces the homeowner already has in their collection and work to enhance the space. The result is a comfortably elegant space that is timeless and as unique as the homeowner.
For new construction projects, we prefer to be brought into the process as early as possible so that we are able to work with the architect and builder to create the optimal end product for the homeowner. As a part of the process, we work to select all of the finishings such as tile, plumbing and color scheme and lighting in order to set the stage for the interiors. By approaching projects from this direction, we are able to have the total package ready when the homeowner is ready to move in to the new residence. Time and energy are saved and the homeowner is able to simply move in and enjoy their new surroundings.
Harmonious Living by Tish Mills approaches design from the stance of taking what the client wants and needs and developing a well-planned, comfortable space. We work to get to know our clients, including their tastes and the way they live so that the finished product fits them perfectly.
Communication is the key component needed to create spaces that meet and exceed all expectations. Because the client has an active role in the design process, the result will be a true reflection of them. While the client’s role is integral to the process, Tish Mills is able to achieve a plan while helping the client realize what they wanted for a space, but were not quite able to see or achieve on their own.
As a first step in the process, the designer will meet with the homeowner to determine how spaces will be used and what current items are to be used. It is not the intention of Tish Mills to discard any memories or items that are a part of the family. Instead, these items will serve as a base for the vision for the project. The homeowner’s collection is then enhanced to create individual spaces that reflect who they are and how they live. This approach, coupled with an agreed-upon plan, timing and budget for the job will help keep the project moving to completion.
It is our goal, through this close client-designer relationship that the homeowner feel that the resulting spaces are exactly what they wanted. And, just as important, the spaces are a perfect reflection of who they are and how they live.
